The app

Exhibit: The Digital Museum is an iPhone app by buroLAB · Daniel Buro, a sole proprietorship, Habelstr. 1, 65719 Hofheim am Taunus, Germany. Contact details are in the legal notice.

Licence

Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). This page adds information about the membership and the content. It does not replace the EULA. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected. Where the Standard EULA excludes or limits warranties or liability or chooses the law of California, this applies only as far as the mandatory law of your country of residence allows.

Membership

• The membership is sold by Apple through In-App Purchase and charged to your Apple Account. Apple’s Media Services terms apply to the purchase.
• The monthly and yearly memberships are subscriptions that renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
• The yearly membership can start with a free week if you have not had one before. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the free week ends, the paid yearly membership begins.
• The membership for life is a single purchase and does not renew. It unlocks the membership features for your Apple Account for as long as we offer Exhibit.
• You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings (Apple’s guide). Refunds are handled by Apple. The app shows the price before you buy.
• If you are a consumer in the EU, you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason, under Apple’s terms; for subscriptions this applies to the first purchase, not to renewals. In the app, open You, then Your profile, then Withdraw a purchase, or use reportaproblem.apple.com.

About the content

Exhibit tells history through real objects. The texts are written and checked with AI: every fact is checked twice against at least two independent sources, with AI. The narration is an AI voice. Film scenes are AI-generated images, not photographs, and carry an AI label in the video and in the app. In the case files, you play an invented part in a true story; the real people appear only in the narration.

We take care to get things right, but mistakes can happen. The content is for general information and entertainment. It is not medical, legal or other professional advice. Reported errors are checked against the sources and corrected with the next update of the app. If a statement concerns you, you can ask us to publish your reply with it.

Photos and names

The photographs are in the public domain or used under their open licences, such as CC0, CC BY and CC BY-SA. The credit and licence are shown with each photo. Names of museums, companies and products belong to their owners; mentioning them does not mean that they endorse Exhibit or are connected with it.
